Inspiration for a New Year This is one of those off topic type entries for this blog but I want to share two things based around the outstanding work of one man, Nicholas Bate, who’s blog continues to inspire.

Occasionally he blogs photo’s taken with his iPhone (the only real technology to explore) but very often he blogs great words of inspiration, such as his 23 point check list.  The reason I’m posting now is because I disagree with point 23:

Do one additional radical thing every month. Month 1: scrap the TV.

I think this should read:

Do one additional radical thing every month. Month 1: scrap the scheduled TV.

Using a DVR or connected TV like Windows Media Center you free yourself from the schedule and only watch the TV you enjoy, rather than blindly watching all the other dross.  I did this last year, and it’s made a difference.
